I ran first aid in disk utility on all my disks/volumes and everything checked out fine except the APPHDD (disk 0? or 1? I'm not sure) told me that the partition guide/map could be messed up and to go back into disk utility during a reboot in recovery mode and then try to perform first aid. I was able to boot back in but without installing the update. I did that and this is where I ran into the booting trouble. After doing the wipe and reinstalling OSX (High Sierra) everything seemed to be working fine for a few minutes and then the the App Store opened telling me I had an update that required a restart. I thought it would be best to just wipe the drive as if I was doing a factory reset or something and starting over. I had finally almost filled the whole thing up with pointless files from college that I no longer have any use for. I have performed a reinstall of high Sierra which only got me into the os but after a restart again the same error message.Īfter getting around that I thought I'm just going to go back to Sierra. I should state that everything is slow, the boot is slow, using disk utility at start up is laggy. Another said to go into safe mode which worked to get past the error but again was even slower if that was possible. The path /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damagedĪfter performing suggestions to do nvram and another reset.
